2024 Langtoft Village walk
For many years, this social event had to be undertaken annually in order to maintain the right to use the official public footpaths within our parish.
However due to the intervention of the COVID-19 worldwide epidemic in late 2019 and then the UK government requirements restricting movement of everyone, therefore meeting, and mixing with others this activity ceased, along with all other social activities.
During this period, it was nationally declared that it was no longer necessary to carry out these footpath walks.
In 2024 the parish council decided that it would be good for Langtoft residents to resume these annual walks, at the same time providing a sense of purpose and a Village social activity, especially as there were new residents since COVID.
The date of Wednesday May 1st with a start time of 18:30, walk leaders, a meeting place and end stop for light refreshments were agreed.
On the dry and warmish evening 23 people, some with their dogs, arrived and set off on the walk. The walk was along Back Road, across the A15 down the side of the cemetery into New Road, turned right and then across the road and through the kissing gate and onto the Permissive Pathway, across the refurbished foot bridge down towards the park area, then turned right and arrived at the A15. A short walk then to the Waggon & Horses for light refreshments.
LPC would like to say Thank you to Richard and his staff at the Waggon and Horses for helping this event to be memorable.
Come-on then go and get it!
A most delightful spread after working up an appetite.
