Home-based, with attendance at evening Council meetings in Langtoft
Langtoft Parish Council is seeking to appoint a permanent Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to support the Council in delivering its statutory, financial and community responsibilities.
The Clerk will act as the Council’s Proper Officer and Responsible Financial Officer, advising the Council on governance, ensuring decisions are implemented, managing agendas and minutes, handling correspondence, maintaining records, supporting compliance, and overseeing the Council’s finances.
The role includes preparing agendas and minutes, managing correspondence, monitoring accounts, preparing budget and audit information, submitting VAT claims, supporting risk management, maintaining the asset register, and advising councillors on lawful and effective decision-making. These duties reflect the Council’s dual Clerk/RFO job description, including the Proper Officer function and responsibility for the Council’s financial records and administration.
The Council is looking for someone who is organised, professional and confident working independently. Previous experience in local council administration is essential, and CiLCA qualification, is preferable.
